I found this series to be both challenging and very delightful to sight. The short storyline is every few decades a sort of magical tournament is held where the victor after defeating or killing their enemies is granted one wish from the holy grail but only if that person is grand to truly have the wish granted. The person who is usually a magician summons a spirit to fight for them the spirit is someone who shares their summoners personality and ideals to the most point. Also the summoned spirit is also granted their wish if they and their master accumulate the tournament thus causing the servant to do their best to net victory. Thus Shirou a high school student with some unlearned magical abilities unwittingly becomes one of the combatants in the tournament. The narrative for me also seemed to have a more adult version of Pokeman in it but instead of some kid saying “I determine You” the master summons the spirit servant to fight for them. The animation was vast nicely detailed and also arresting and sure. The audio was also stout the English cast as well as the Japanese affirm actors did superbly well. There are some extras with the box site the standard textless intro/ending, trailers, but you also have some music video clips as well as some Japanese t.v. commercials for the series. So I thank Funimation and Geneon again for re-releasing this sizable series for all to gather.
Fate/Stay night fought an uphill battle for a few years to accept released stateside and I had always heard about the craze for it in Japan, so needless to say I was happy when it was finally brought oversea’s a petite over a year ago. Of course it was extremelly petite and I had to fight tooth and nail to compelte the collection, but with this original package it can be yours easily.

As for the series itself, its a simple premise, but one with little nuances and touches that get it challenging enough to sit through. Seven people who are themselves Magus’(people controlling the elements and magic) must summon themselves each one servant to do their fighting in a sort of battle royale to choose which is superb to recieve the ultimate prize, the Holy Grail. Thats the main jist of this series, but again, I won’t say anything more about who or what or why because its a fun series that mixes very well action and residence. The action sequences are some of the best I’ve seen in a long while, on par with something like the more account scenes in Samurai 7. This IS a series about magic and beings who posess fabulous powers afterall and, more often than not, they will be taking a lot of the environment around them with them during these scenes. I judge a expansive thing about this series too is that its more relatable to our society than most animes because the character’s are based off of many cultural, historical figures, not simply those pertaining to Japan.
If you care for action scenes in your anime and some honorable anecdote laid down over a foundation of suspense and dramatic mystery, then you’ll savor this series. I contemplate it deserve well its substantial following in its native homeland. And who doesn’t adore a hottie like Saber wielding a simply rotten sword anyways?

What attracted me to this series was the artistic connections to Serial Experiments – Lain, which was an outstanding example of what anime is worthy of out of genre. What kept me from getting to it when it first came out was that, depending on the review I looked at, it either sounded dreary or was painted as a ‘magical girl’ chronicle. Now that I’ve seen this first DVD I can picture that it is neither what I expected nor what the critics reported, but something quite fresh.
A young girl finds herself plummeting through the air only to wake up unexpectedly in a outlandish bed surrounded by people with wings. She discovers that, like her, each has awoken from a dream to score themselves in the Weak Home with no memory of the past. And like them, she grows wings and acquires a halo. The remainder of these four episodes follow Rakka as she adjusts to her recent like and discovers the world of the Haibane, the Obsolete Home in which they live, and the town of Glie, which forms their boundaries.
There are countless mysteries. Rakka and her friends like, Kuu, Hikari, Kana and Reku, only know the contrivance things are, but have no conception how this came to be. Thus the origins of the Haibane (charcoal feathers) and their role are mysteries. They exist within the walls of Glie, where no one, Haibane or normal human is allowed to enter the outside world. Only birds and the masked Toga (traders) can to so, and the Toga may not vow. Amidst this, the Haibane themselves carry on, working in the town and living off its largess with surprising acceptance and a astronomical deal of charm.

And charm is what this series has a surfeit. The Haibane and the townsfolk all seem bounded together in a supportive fashion, which is almost, a model of what most of us would deem of as a perfect community. It doesn’t engage long before the viewer becomes complete enchanted. Not unbiased with the record, but the art, acting, and music as well. Despite all the signs that things are not really as they appear you will win yourself hoping that things will go on honest as they are, that the glimmer of light here will prevail.
What the future will bring, I can’t say. But I hope we glean add least a few more DVD’s of the tranquility and almost Zen-like atmosphere that permeates these first episodes. This is a glowing epic that unfolds in the pastel shades of some fabulous artwork and character create. In any case, I bear you will score the originality of the account and its characters refreshing and worth pursuing.
As an artist I am in esteem with this series. The world is richly portrayed, and original in it’s blend of asian, european and wonderful elements. The memoir is insensible to form but in a friendly intention, there is a gentle, soft telling of a yarn here which is rare and new, and the characters and unfolding state are better for it. You can’t see this series without becoming aware of the positive care and devotion the artists have save into it.
This is an animation which evolved from a written memoir, which evolved from a portion of poetry, so maybe there is some literary aspect of it that failed to acquire the Amazon reviewer. But don’t absorb it, there is a lot going for Haibane Renmei beyond it’s artwork.

The anecdote, the characters, and the world they live in have depth and heart. It compares favorably to some of anime’s substantial titles, notably “Captivating Away,” “Castle in the Sky,” “Lain,” and “Key the Metal Idol.” If you liked any of these, you will savor Haibane Renmei. I strongly recommend it.

I ancient to have this movie, and I seriously regret the fact that my family taped over it. This is a fun film based on one of the all-time gargantuan 80′s cartoon series.
Three witches unlease the Smooze on Dream Valley in order to produce it “unlit, dank, and expressionless.” The ponies bring Meghan, Danny, and Molly and their Rainbow locket to Ponyland to keep them, but the Smooze manages to suck up the Rainbow of Light before a spell mishap puts it to sleep. The humans, a few ponies, and one doughty bushwoolie search for abet before the witches can awaken the Smooze and completely flood Ponyland. Meanwhile, Baby Snappy and Spike race away and meet the Grundles before they reunite with everyone in Flutter Valley, home of the magic ponies that can defeat the Smooze. Lots of singing and shipshape adventures recall space along the design.
It’s really a fun family movie, and there are lots of lessons that are learned along the plot about teamwork, family, and keeping hope alive. The songs are stout, particularly “Nothing Can Halt the Smooze,” if only for the back-up singing the Smooze heads do. Purchase this movie, you won’t regret it.
I taped this movie from the Disney Channel, but my sister taped over my copy of it. This isn’t the greatest MLP cartoon in the bunch (my favorites are “Midnight Castle” and “Sprint from Catrina”), but this one mild had it’s moments.

The Witches from the Volcano of Gloom get the Smooze to ruin the Petite Ponies and their spring festival, so they have to go obtain the Rainbow of Light, but it ends up buried in the Smooze, and they have to go gain the Flutter Ponies. Also, some of the other ponies search for Baby Lickety Split who has urge away, with Spike the Dragon.
PROS:
The music and the songs are really noble, I consider. One of the best song numbers is “I’ll Do the Dirty Work” sung by Reeka and Draggle. Every time I peep this routine, I crack up, along with “Nothing Can Halt the Smooze” with the Smooze doing a limited 1950′s doo wop riff while the witches are singing. Another gargantuan song was “There’s Always Another Rainbow.” Not silly like the other two I mentioned, but detached a sizable song.
Buy,Download, Or Stream My Little Pony – The Movie! Click Here
The Moochick and his rabbit cracked me up. I appreciate Tony Randall’s convey of the Moochick better than whoever did him in the MLP TV series. It objective seems funnier to me.
Any scene with the Grundles, especially when the Grundle King mentions Grundleland.
Keep your eyes begin during any scene with Reeka and Draggle. You’ll accept itsy-bitsy surprises along the contrivance.
CONS (reasons why I give this a 4 rather than a 5) :
Buy,Download, Or Stream My Little Pony – The Movie! Click Here
A lot of the scene changes were a bit choppy and seemed to approach so mercurial.
The paint job on this seemed a bit washed out.
Baby Lickety Split was a brat, and I didn’t like Gusty’s personality all that noteworthy, even BEFORE she got Smoozed.
I didn’t particularly care for Buttons’s, Lofty’s, Baby Lickety Split’s, or Sundance’s voices. Having seen the MLP TV series before this movie, I mediate that explains it.
The ruin of the “I’ll Go it Alone” song, because the animation was a petite irregular there.
In some scenes, there are ponies that aren’t supposed to be there, and they mysteriously depart later. Something comman in the TV series, too.
But other than the cons, this is a vast movie. It’s really very cute! You will not regret it if you win it.

Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl is a docile anime with a sensitive and cordial tone that any fan of romantic yuri will almost surely devour. The term simple elegance would not be an groundless description for what is a very wonderful and pensive series.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl Collection! Click Here
For those not familiar with the situation, Kashimashi presents the pickle of an effeminate young man who is transformed into a girl by otherworldly means. The 13-episode series (with OVA) then follows the charming, romantic and often saddening misadventures of the (girl) and her struggles to follow her heart in choosing either her dearest childhood friend, or the crush that had previously got away. The anime is very tasteful and although some Westerners might be shy or offended by the overly and intentionally creepy dad and his… fervent attitude towards now having a daughter instead of a son, the anime does not even arrive sex, has moderate fan service, and most of the more spicy scenes (which are shrimp to originate with) are tasteful, appropriate and/or comical. There is some slapstick, but it isn’t really over the edge and doesn’t derive in the arrangement of the drama like many other anime, and generally the expose is serene and placid.
Though the series is nothing groundbreaking and fans will be familiar with quite a bit presented here such as hot springs, stunned schools, quirky aliens, mysterious illnesses, karaoke, festivals with fireworks & kimonos and evening scenes highlighted by droves of fireflies, it collected does have a thing or two going for it other than the positive new twists, and even on occasion pokes a bit of fun at some of these popular conventions. The presentation and animation is attractive powerful top notch and includes shimmering, gleaming, likable characters in flowery scenes sprinkled with comely, heartfelt melodies played out gently on string instruments and piano with some occasional recent age woven in. Record dulcet, mellifluous classical strings & piano interwoven with The Album Leaf. The opening, ending & menu themes are soothing and splendid and the music in general is truly resplendent and arguably one of the series’ major strengths. It will stop with you long after the credits role. There are also some rather clever metaphors thrown in here and there… some subtle, some not so subtle, and many surprisingly meaningful. Generally, as far as presentation, if you enjoy nature you will bask in the soft and elegant settings & landscapes in this anime as most are filled with gleaming plants, flowers, trees, and vegetable & fruit gardens with a lot of emphasis on the earth’s natural beauty… with some thanks going to our horticulturally knowledgable lead character!
Buy,Download, Or Stream Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl Collection! Click Here
The crude point is about 3/4 the plan through. It can be somewhat aggravating to eye as the relationships objective sort of tread water for a bit and you feel as if you are waiting for something to happen… which something does. I also would have liked to peep more time spent exploring the comic challenges faced by our newly-female lead character in her adjustments to the change.
Fans of sparkles, painful cuteness and yuri will likely glean this series to be worth their time and money. Kashimashi is overflowing with plenty of mystical glimmer, admire & romance, invokes a wide range of emotions, and could charm impartial about anyone. The explain keeps its promises and although the last OVA thrown in seems to go against the grain a bit and is more of an alternate fairytale ending than anything, it is nonetheless a joy to perceive and is a rather satisfying conclusion… quite refreshing actually. I can’t say the same for a lot of anime out there. Personally I preferred the recent ending though, as it had powerful more of an impact on me. Either arrangement, everything ties up very nicely and all of the diminutive details throughout have meaning and purpose.
One more imprint about the DVD release… I purchased mine heed unusual at Best Win for $14.99 and it is Japanese only with English subtitles. It comes in a box which contains 3 new and artistic burly size high quality DVD cases and comes with the usual textless opening/closing, trailers and interviews with the actors. I recommend (if you have the means available to you, of course) to visit your local Best Select or perhaps give their status a gaze. If you like subtitles with unusual dialogue like me (and I should add philosophize actors are titanic and the captions possess only a few minor slip-ups and typos) you will not only score a cheaper release, but also one of higher quality.
Regarding the drawing it’s quite nice to gawk. As for the narrative, it first looked quite surprising to me, but it turned out to be very humorous! I particularly enjoyed ep.2, seeing this ex-boy trying to adapt to his (her) novel condition, or rather his family and friends trying to adapt to him/her! At the beginning he kept acting like a boy, leading to some humorous situations as you can demand ^^. But, with the relieve of his “girlfriends”, he/she learns expeditiously how to behave properly (indeed he/she was rather effeminate before and this modern area doesn’t seem to bother him/her that powerful) . And this leads to the second funny aspect, where he/she behaves like a girl even more than his/her friends themselves (to their despair! looks like they have a modern serious competitor! ^^) . So this gender UFO ends up causing some effort to both side, and I had lots of fun seeing them entangled in awkward situations. But then the extinguish of the series is a microscopic repetitive and kitsch. Tranquil, I had a fine time, I recommend it!

I watched the first volume not gleaming what to question, and ended up really liking it. The animation and character accomplish has a really cute, solid style, and the backgrounds are absolutely fine (especially during accelerate scenes with shots soaring over the landscape) . I really enjoyed seeing all the different alien races and their ships, as well; they were creatively designed. The main character Eva (AKA Molly) was a refreshing alternative to most young female characters one finds these days – vivid, strong, but with all the imperfections of her youth.

One thing I liked a lot was the fact that Rick Thunderbolt, who seemed at first like a token jock and a space map thrown in to simply originate an obstacle (he was even taken out by a convenient accident), comes befriend to become a mentor figure for Molly.
Even as an (nearly) 18 year ragged, I liked this reveal a lot and am enthusiastic to contemplate the second volume.
Well this was a bit of a surprise, and a estimable surprise at that. I was looking for a more fun anime series, as it has been awhile since I’ve taken on a series like that.

There’s no mistaking that this is a series that is a bit more family righteous than others, but it manages this without giving it that saturday morning cartoon feel. The legend itself aloof has quite a bit of depth to it, and it runs the fleshy range of emotions, both negative and clear. It explores major issues like wretchedness, and death, in a diagram that works for a indicate like this without having a negative execute on its impact.
The characters face death and injury, encounter personal conflicts amongst each other, feel the highs of victory and sting of defeat and so on; the myth doesn’t suffer from the lack of obvious “obsolete” components. It’s a family excellent cartoon, but manages to do so without feeling overly kiddy. Sex, blood and violence are obviously missing, which is handsome since this series really wouldn’t aid from any of those. Aside from that though, it smooth manages to earn the characters well and provide a myth with enough depth, something many series aimed at family audiences honest can’t pull off.
The art style might consume a bit of getting extinct to. It’s a collaboration between a Japanese studio and a French studio, so while the anime element is obviously there, it does have a different feel to it. The most important fresh element of the art style is the lack of defined noses on the characters, but it works once you collect adjusted to it. The color palette ancient and how well the colors blend makes the series really quite impressive visually. The CG also mixes in well with the 2D, it doesn’t really suffer from that out of location feeling that you accumulate in other shows where the two styles are mixed.
As long as you’re no the type who needs that obvious “maturity” that anime titles loaded with fanservice, gore, or really black storylines provide, then this is definitely worth a gaze. You certainly can’t go ghastly with an entire 26 episode series being released on two volumes under $20 a section either.
For those that are hardcore sub fans though, you might be disappointed in that the series is presented with the English dub only. It’s a well done dub though, and the series was made with the way of being broadcast internationally as well. One thing worth noting as well is that the DVD uses the opening and closing songs veteran in the Japanese/French version, and not the songs broken-down in the US broadcast version.
All in all it’s a great series that is fun and lighthearted, but serene provides enough depth and conflict to exclaim a wonderful, racy record. It’s also a advantageous deal as well as each volume has 13 episodes a share and normally be found for around $15 (MSRP is region at 19.99) . If you relish a series like this, then this is a reliable hold.

My fiance and I both loved this movie when it was released and we unruffled do. When we heard it was coming out on Blu Ray and on top of that 3-D we were beyond exasperated. Well that excitment was crushed when we got home, keep it on and were almost given instant headaches from the broken-down school red and blue 3-d glasses and the fact that no matter how hard we tried to survey it, it unbiased was nowhere advance 3-d quality. We sat there contemplating whether or not it was unbiased us or if the 3-d aspect of it sucked that poor and we came to the conclusion that it was definately the latter. So after a half hour of trying hard to like it we switched it to 2-d (thank god for blu ray for having that option) and saw how in 1080p it was almost 3-d itself.
Needless to say the very next day I went help to the store I purchased it from and changed it for the regular blu ray version (which was $5 cheaper than the 3-d version and totally worth the hold, 5 stars for that version.) It was very shaded that it did not work out because such an improbable holiday movie with such large animation would be a no brainer to have as 3-d but unfortunately it unbiased is not worth the headache and strain.

I went to peep this movie tonight with a mentally handicapped friend – “Michael” — (from a L’Arche home here in Winnipeg, Canada) . We were the first persons in the theatre for the very first evening showing in this city – and we were the last to leave. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves – enchanted by the movie’s subtleties and happily exhausted by its roller-coaster rides.
Time and again, Michael (who is sensitive, compassionate and with a superior sense of humor) turned to me in the darkness, smiling in appreciation at the accurate same moments I turned to gawk his reactions. Each time this happened, it was at a moment in the film when some petite detail, perfectly captured through obedient ‘cinematography,’ brought moisture to my normally cynical explore, and a warm smile to Michael’s innocent face.

Some examples: There is a lone, murky child on this apparent ‘dream train’ to the North Pole – a girl of about ten or eleven years, and like a painting reach to life, the miraculous technology at work in this film captures the particular sensibilities of this compassionate, dismal youngster — We survey diminutive mannerisms of someone comfortable with herself in a arrangement the other (ten or so) white kids on the thunder are not. And the conclude is profound — the movie audience, including some children of that same age group, went quiet at such moments in the film.
My friend Michael – who has a ‘savant’ genius for perceiving my emotions, and expressing them for me out loud in public — Michael turned to me with a joyful smile when the girl on the stammer reaches out to maintain the hands of the poorest boy, sitting alone in the rear compartment; and later, she hugs two other boys, (one of them the central character) — at their final parting. At that moment I held up a finger to my lips to try to hush Michael, but couldn’t prevent him from saying aloud: “She’s such a sweetheart.” There were murmurs of appreciation in the darkness around us, responding to this innocent sentiment.
There is a sublime moment, on the succor platform of the engaging snort — the Northern Lights glimmering in the distance — when the young girl joins in song with the poorest kid on the vow (a younger boy from a old home on the “far side of the tracks”) . I admit to being overcome with emotion during this duet (a magnificent, strong melody with poignant lyrics) – and I blurted out loud to Michael, after the first chorus: “What a improbable song!” The refrain includes the words “When Christmas comes to town.” [It's a song so satisfactory that, with some future 'cover versions' by serious musicians who could do it justice --- this "Christmas Comes to Town" song could, I possess, deservedly join the little list of good, Christmas 'classics.']
I’d have to agree with anyone who thinks this movie is a runt short on dwelling. And yet . . . once you’ve suspended disbelief — beginning with an earth-shattering, Christmas-eve arrival of a steam-puffing, passenger verbalize on a small-town Michigan street, directly outside the home of the movie’s central character — once we’ve swallowed that premise, the movie disarmingly embraces the child in us, (including our fears) and our reservations vanish without our noticing.
Just as enormous `realistic’ painters, (contemplate Rembrandt or Vermeer) worked wonders of light & shadow that no mere photograph could ever choose, so too this computer-animated marvel takes your breath away through an accumulation of runt but acute observations that could never be captured by faded cinematography. Prime examples from the opening scenes:
A shaft of light illuminates the boy’s bedroom, and he is reflected in a chrome, automobile hubcap leaning against a wall; at once we fraction his concept — through the keyhole of his bedroom door – we can view only the backs and the dressing gowns of mother and father, as they say goodnight to the boy’s young sister, after determining the region of her idea in Santa’s existence – a view no longer shared by the older brother, whose observe is at the keyhole.
Later, on the lisp, there’s an gorgeous terminate up of the boy’s face, a minute blemish above the pores on his upper correct cheek; the `camera’ pans in rotation, capturing perfectly, the texture of the boy’s hair, and that of the young dim girl sitting beside him — subtleties of such perfection one wonders if the original, artistic accomplishment of “Polar Explain” could ever be surpassed.
The film’s last scene, consists entirely of a close-up conception of a shrimp, silver bell (of the type associated with sleigh rides) with its attached ‘ribbon’ of red leather. The runt bell helps perform the final point about `Belief’ — in things unseen, (or forgotten, and thus inaccessible to some adults) . So simple, so much, so enlightening an image. My friend Michael turned to me at that moment, with a aesthetic smile. And we honest shook our heads in terror.
—-
Yes, this movie must have SOME shortcomings – one or two moments that don’t quite work as intended by the creators. But legal now, in the afterglow, I can’t occupy what they were. The film was unbiased too satisfying an experience!
I’m a 57-year-old grandfather who happens to maintain that “The Polar Squawk” is the first, moral Christmas classic in almost 60 years. Not since the unique Kris Kringle “Miracle” movie of 1947, has any film (to my jaded perceive) so transcended our secular, commercial views of the Holiday Season, with such uplifting and new reminders of the timeless and right spirit of Christmas.

Let me inaugurate by saying thank you to Voyager Entertainment for deciding to set aside this beloved series on DVD. It really brings abet memories of my childhood. I’d bustle home after school to follow the voyages of the Yamato (ok, the ARGO) and her mission to the planet Iscandar.
To those who aren’t familiar with the anecdote, here’s a short summary. In the not so distant future, earth is under attack from a distant planet known as Gamelon. Gamelon’s ‘planet bombs’ rain down on earth, leaving it’s surface a desert wasteland. As a result, people are forced to live in underground cities. But the radioactivity is slowly seeping into the earth, and in one year, all life on earth will be archaic. The planet’s only hope lies in a message from a friend on a far away planet known as Iscandar. Starsha of Iscandar offers the cosmo DNA, a contrivance respectable of restoring earth to its passe beauty, to the people of earth. The message also includes the plans for an engine excellent of exceeding the run of light. Construction of a unusual residence ship begins, underneath the sunken remains of the WWII Japanese battleship YAMATO. The ship launches and begins it’s 148,000 light year slide to Iscandar, with the hopes of saving all mankind. But, can they heinous such a sizable distance and return to earth in only 365 days? Peruse the series to win out!
Those who have purchased the first DVD in the series will earn an determined improvment in the menu screens and the addtional options of this disc. However, the menu screens are IDENTICAL to the second disc, with the exception of music and some current peaceful photos. Also, it’s promise of a ‘Virtual tour of the Argo’ is a microscopic misleading, as it is merely a collection of pencil sketches and production cels (artwork) of the ship. I expected a 3D CGI ship to lope around and notice, but no such luck. The record quality and sound are only slightly better than the VHS versions, but at least it will never deteriorate. I’d have to give 1 star for the disc itself, and the rest for such a titanic myth. Fans will be delighted it’s on DVD, but won’t be too impressed with quality and the lack of extras on the disc.
Star Blazers: The Quest for Iscandar Portion III, contains episodes 10-13 (out of 26) of the first season of the cult-favorite Americanized Japanese Anime series from the early 1980′s.

For the uninitiated, here’s a rundown of the situation. In 2199 Earth was under attack by an “harmful” alien run called the Gamilons. The Gamilons bombed earth with “planet bombs” which destroyed the planet and emitted high levels of radiation, thus driving mankind into underground cities. In one Earth year the planet would become uninhabitable. Queen Starsha of Iscandar offers mankind hope in the manufacture of the Cosmic DNA which would cure all mankind from the radiation sickness. She sends Earth a message along with worthy technology that will allow mankind to move to Iscandar to glean the Cosmic DNA. The Star Force is formed to depart to Iscandar to find the Cosmic DNA. Their faithful battleship is the Argo, a renovated WWII era navy battleship remade into a Starship. There is unprejudiced one minor plight though, Iscandar is 148,000 Light Years away. No one has ever traveled that far before. More importantly, the Star Force only has one year to disappear there and support for a total of 296,000 Light Years.
Here is a summary of the four episodes included on this DVD:
Episode 10: As they leave the solar system the crew gets a last chance to contact their families on Earth. Plus, Wildstar and Capt. Avatar section a tender moment.

Episode 11: Now out of Earth’s solar system the Argo faces perilous terrors in deep plot as the Gamilon’s attempt to close the Argo. The first test: The Argo vs. the Desslok mines.
Episode 12: More Gamilon treachery: The Argo vs. the Residence Acquire, a poisonous cloud and the Red Star. Plus, Captain Avatar’s health deteriorates and Nova makes a wish.
Episode 13: The Star Force captures a Gamilon. Plus, a flashback witness into Wildstar’s past and the origin of the Gamilon-Earth war.
Continuing its tradition of vast DVD extras from Fragment II, this DVD includes the following special features:
1.A Virtual Tour of the Ago. You can belief photos and schematic drawings of all the fraction of the ship. Ravishing frigid feature.
2.Yet another shameless poke, this time for Fraction IV of the series. Can’t blame them for trying though huh?
Overall, this is another mountainous installment in the series. The tour of the Argo was a nice touch and the collection of episodes in and of itself is pure gold.
Summed up, if you were ever a Star Blazers fan, give this (and Parts I & II) a survey. It’s substantial for a sprint down memory lane. If you’ve NEVER seen Star Blazers, give it a try, it’s a cult classic from the 80′s (along with other Americanized anime greats like Robotech, Voltron, Transor Z, etc) . The animation may gaze a miniature dated, but the storyline serene holds its hold very well against anything out there today. This series has stood the test of time. Due to microscopic distribution this explain may have slipped by the radar of a lot of people but it caught on like a fire with those who did accept it. Check it out and spy what everyone else was screaming about.

My guy and I objective started a netflix legend and found this movie quite by accident and without any previous knowledge of AirTv (the series) . The first thing that drew us into this movie was the art. It is typical anime in construct I sing, but the colors are unbiased outstanding. Neither of us had seen animation colored in such a shimmering, vibrant, racy blueprint. You have to scrutinize it to understand I mutter. And the scenes are edited together in a creative plan, occasionally broken apart by separate droll book like windows or smooth images that seek as if they have been water colored.

Bottom line on presentation – This movie is Fine!
We found the three main characters to be really challenging and involving. I’m definite they all indicate a few stereotypical anime qualities, but they really are their fill and very appealing. Occasionally Yukito, the hero, would act a miniature.. odd. Throughout the movie he’s blooming serious, unexcited, but level-headed nice. But at times he bursts out into five second craziness which my guy and I weren’t certain about. It didn’t always seem to suit his so far developed character. The whisper acting is solid, no character in the entire feature seemed to hold a scream that didn’t suit them.

Overall I’d give the fictional cast a 5/5.
The record.. It is really suitable. Almost too short, but this is a movie, and, as others have stated, a highly condensed version of the series (which I have not seen) . Because of this it can glean a microscopic choppy at times. It is never hard to follow along with, never confusing. It tells itself well. I objective wish it would pronounce itself more. The fresh day account parallels a mythical record from long ago. The mythical half really doesn’t find enough justice or air time and so the impact of those scenes varies from kind of caring about the characters from the past to fair wishing it would go assist to the fresh sage. Also, come the ruin, some more unusual day characters are added but not really given any time for you to learn or care about them.
The legend and its presentation gets a 3/5 for going by too speedy!
Maybe it is because I have never seen the series, but this movie was, overall, a 5/5 for me. It is rare that I can prefer up an anime beefy length feature and feel so fulfilled, so happy. Most anime rotund length features unprejudiced aren’t quality. They seem slapped together so haphazardly with bad tale development, poor teach acting, and some questionable animation. Air was none of these! Stunning, lovely, stunning.
Please, at least give this movie a rent! My one last suggestion: gaze this with a friend. You’ll need a shoulder to scream on.
My daughter and I loved ArTV and decided we would have the collection. Air the Movie is a retelling of the series with a twist. We loved it! Fans of the series or newcomers to the sage will indulge in the movie.

The Laurel and Hardy classic, March of the Wooden Soldiers (originally released as Babes in Toyland), was the wonderful result of combining two stout talents with a childlike, fantasy world and adult situations (Laurel and Hardy, Toyland and an defective landlord’s mortgage conspiracy, respectively) . Such rich source material makes for a film of unsurpassed quality: featuring rich and imaginative environments, costumes, sights and sounds. Every fairytale has its day, from Limited Bo Spy to the Three Diminutive Pigs to Mother Goose, and even Santa. We all know that the winter months are a time to remember to greatest holiday classics from years past, and March of the Wooden Soldiers is unsurpassed in its genre.

The holidays are associated with brilliant and festive colors–bright reds, greens, blues and golds–that spot a warm and cheery mood, and the movies that we decide to be pleased during this season are no different. Fortunately, this edition of March of the Wooden Soldiers has been colorized, bringing newfound vibrancy to the events on hide and helping to integrate this classic chronicle with the mature warmth of the holiday season. Rather than a visually tiresome grayscale that reminds one of the dour winter weather, toy soldiers shimmer in shiny red onscreen, and our two comedian leads are further humanized by their newfound flesh tones and knowing Christmas garb.
As colorization efforts go, March of the Wooden Soldiers is a superlative grief, looking as though it was originally produced in the first generation of Technicolor, rather than decades earlier. The producers in charge of this re-mastering grief clearly concept that we would earn an “old-fashioned color” appearance more acceptable than attempting to produce it peek completely new, and this arrive works very well. I’m clear you’ll agree if you glance a preview.

It’s worth noting that this disc also includes the sunless and white version of the movie, perhaps as a peace offering to those of you who might object to the alteration of a classic film. I would go so far, then, as to call this the definitive steal of March of the Wooden Soldiers, not fair because you’ll have a choice between color and murky and white, but because the first step in colorizing any movie is to “natty up” the pre-existing gloomy and white material as considerable as possible, and it certainly shows in comparison with other versions available.
In addition to both versions of the movie, this disc’s special features really push it over the top. As a media buff, the included classic trailers are a amazing prelude to the main feature–I like to imagine that I’m getting the same experience as the audiences who first viewed Laurel and Hardy some seventy years ago. And, in keeping with this package’s holiday theme, the exciting Rudolph the Reindeer movie is thoughtfully included, ensuring that you and your family procure the most value out of a single disc.
For any family or fan of holiday cinema, this package is definitely a must-buy.
I very distinguished seize this film in color than in dusky and white, and I have watched both the Goodtimes colourized version and this Account version. For me it comes down to this:
The Goodtimes has the best saturation, better overall colour, and better dissimilarity without exposing the print too worthy to bleach out details. It is also a cleaner print. However, it is not exactly in focus (or seems to be a tiny in “double-focus”), and the beginning is the “March of the Wooden Soldiers” credits instead of the novel “Babes in Toyland”. I found that I did acquire mature to the uncommon focus, but it took a while.
The Chronicle version is very tantalizing and sure, has most of the novel titles with their snippet of animation leading into “Babes in Toyland” (*) . But, it is a washed-out print with highlights burned out, and overall has a greenish-cast, which is awful. (Maybe you can adjust for this on your DVD monitor.) The menus have loud, dumb, disturbing music–a characteristic that I always abhor and detest (pure silence is best) .
(* The first fresh title is an approval certificate. Epic replaces this with a title-card that has their have name. No loss folks, really.)
The Chronicle black-and-white version does appear to be simply the colourized print with the colour turned off. It, too, is a bit washed out, and has a LOT of nicks and scratches that are not on other prints. The unusual release of this movie by MGM proves that this film is composed in pristine condition; it has suitable, attractive sound as well. It also has all the new main titles COMPLETELY intact and restored. This Sage release cannot possibly be from the unusual negative, and it is NOT “spectacularly restored”. Once again, we have been lied to.
