I found this series to be both challenging and very delightful to sight. The short storyline is every few decades a sort of magical tournament is held where the victor after defeating or killing their enemies is granted one wish from the holy grail but only if that person is grand to truly have the wish granted. The person who is usually a magician summons a spirit to fight for them the spirit is someone who shares their summoners personality and ideals to the most point. Also the summoned spirit is also granted their wish if they and their master accumulate the tournament thus causing the servant to do their best to net victory. Thus Shirou a high school student with some unlearned magical abilities unwittingly becomes one of the combatants in the tournament. The narrative for me also seemed to have a more adult version of Pokeman in it but instead of some kid saying “I determine You” the master summons the spirit servant to fight for them. The animation was vast nicely detailed and also arresting and sure. The audio was also stout the English cast as well as the Japanese affirm actors did superbly well. There are some extras with the box site the standard textless intro/ending, trailers, but you also have some music video clips as well as some Japanese t.v. commercials for the series. So I thank Funimation and Geneon again for re-releasing this sizable series for all to gather.
Fate/Stay night fought an uphill battle for a few years to accept released stateside and I had always heard about the craze for it in Japan, so needless to say I was happy when it was finally brought oversea’s a petite over a year ago. Of course it was extremelly petite and I had to fight tooth and nail to compelte the collection, but with this original package it can be yours easily.

As for the series itself, its a simple premise, but one with little nuances and touches that get it challenging enough to sit through. Seven people who are themselves Magus’(people controlling the elements and magic) must summon themselves each one servant to do their fighting in a sort of battle royale to choose which is superb to recieve the ultimate prize, the Holy Grail. Thats the main jist of this series, but again, I won’t say anything more about who or what or why because its a fun series that mixes very well action and residence. The action sequences are some of the best I’ve seen in a long while, on par with something like the more account scenes in Samurai 7. This IS a series about magic and beings who posess fabulous powers afterall and, more often than not, they will be taking a lot of the environment around them with them during these scenes. I judge a expansive thing about this series too is that its more relatable to our society than most animes because the character’s are based off of many cultural, historical figures, not simply those pertaining to Japan.
If you care for action scenes in your anime and some honorable anecdote laid down over a foundation of suspense and dramatic mystery, then you’ll savor this series. I contemplate it deserve well its substantial following in its native homeland. And who doesn’t adore a hottie like Saber wielding a simply rotten sword anyways?

Spice and Wolf sounds, by the description, like a typical sudden-girlfriend-appearance anime. Indeed, there are similar “boy meets cute Goddess girl” series out there, like Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens. Spice and Wolf, however, is nothing of the sort.

It is, instead, a very provocative and well-thought out period share. The antiquated European setting is ideal for the fair essence gradual this anime–economy. Lawrence and Holo form a cute pair, to be determined, but this first season only hints at a romantic development between them. Instead, the focus is on a sort of budding professional relationship. The two notice the world town by town, with captivating glimpses into different trading practices, different currencies, and different cultures. The religious presence of a Catholic-esque Church is especially captivating. They are unfavorable in trading methods but effective at spreading faith, something wholly believable.
Simple observations like this are one of the things that get this series so tremendous. Its compliment are the characters. Lawrence and Holo are always though-provoking, and usually comic. Holo’s flirtation and Lawrence’s inhibitions originate for a comedic formula that rarely gets wearisome. The best allotment about their relationship is that, unlike most anime, the audience is not forced to contain in it. The anime takes things insensible, letting their relationship accomplish like loyal ones do–by shared experience. Their frustrations, fears, dreams and humor are all allowed to obtain naturally. This may perform it seem like there is minute character development throughout the series, but there is enough to sustain it going.

The series of light novels, off of which this anime is based, are quiet being published. As such, the episodic nature of the prove seems to form it arrive to an abrupt destroy. This is no dilemma, however, considering there is a second season already finished in Japan, with a third all but assured. It is worth the limited time investment. As it is only one runt fragment of an anticipated whole, it will not be a jaw-dropping, life-changing fraction of art, but it will most definitely develop your day a cramped more expedient. Is this not one of the most admirable aspects of art, anyway, that it can do something so simply profound as to accomplish one feel better?
Funimation usually does the most acceptable job of dubbing shows here. Fullmetal Alchemist is an example of some of their excellent work, and they only seem to learn from their mistakes as a company. And for those who refuse to tolerate dubbing, the novel Japanese snort track is wonderful, and their subtitling is obvious to be, also.
This is a series that will grow on you, fair as the characters grow on each other. The perambulate is level-headed, the characters likable, and the memoir makes the wonderful easy to beget. There is miniature here not to indulge in.
Spice and Wolf is the fable of a traveling merchant and a forgotten wolf-deity who meet and disappear together through a fantasy world somewhat based on medieval Europe. no swords and sorcery but helpful character development and unbelievable dialogue and interaction between the characters as they frail and accomplish feelings for each other. Each has a strong personality and uncanny instincts in their respective fields, Craft Lawrence as a traveling merchant trying to pick up substantial enough to inaugurate his beget shop and Horo the Wise Wolf who wants to return to her home in the north and gawk how the world has changed in the past 150 years along the draw. They meet and interact with many racy characters while trying to end below the witness of an omnipotent church reminiscent of the Catholic Church of the 1400s-1600s. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.

It is probably inevitable that American audiences will compare “Mibu gishi den” (“When the Last Sword is Drawn”) with “The Last Samurai,” in that both films deal the Meiji restoration. This is also a similarity between the two in that this 2003 Japanese film from director Yojiro Takita (“Komikku zasshi nanka iranai,” “Onmyoji”) also is concerned with a character learning the proper meaning of being a samurai. The disagreement is that instead of an American mercenary played by Tom Flee it is a city samurai, Hajime Saito (Koichi Sato), who learns mighty from Kanichiro Yoshimura (Kiichi Nakai), who he dismisses at first meeting as a “country” samurai.

The fable here is told mostly in flashback from the perspective of 1899 when Saito, now an passe man, brings his ailing grandson to view a doctor. In the home of the doctor there is an traditional photograph of a samurai that Saito recognizes, and the memories near flooding attend to both the feeble man in the doctor (only the viewer is privy to both) . The two samurai first met during the last days of the Tokugawa Shogunate, as clans were forced to determine between obedience to the Shogun, who wanted to acquire the ancient ways, and the Emperor, who favored opening Japan to the rest of the world and modernizing the country. The group to which Saito belong remained proper to the Shogun, which dooms them as the troops of the Emperor pick control of the country.
The civil war is creating a time of famine and poverty in Japan, so Yoshimura has left not only his clan but also his wife and children unhurried to bag work so that he can send money home to his family. Since he is a mercenary Saito and the other samurai sight Yoshimura as being dishonorable. When Yoshimura talks with appreciate of the land from which he came, Saito, who cannot conceive of being true to a spot rather than to a man, decides to ruin Yoshimura. But the “country” samurai is too kindly with a sword and believes that Saito’s attack is objective a test. However, the key disagreement between the two is clearly established: Saito is alive because no one has killed him, while Yoshimura kills because he wants to halt alive.

It is certain that Yoshimura represents for Takita the personification code of Bushido. Time and time again my Western sensibilities intruded into this film because with his big treasure for his family and the land from which he comes, I kept expecting Yoshimura to simply go home, but eventually got it through my thick skull that the point here is that he cannot go home, for several reasons. Despite the brief battle and swordplay sequences, “Mibu gishi den” is really a character sight and like Saito we approach to notice the correct value of the irregular samurai from the country, especially when the doctor finishes the yarn and provide a sense of closure for the both old-fashioned man and the viewing audience.
In the 2004 Awards of the Japanese Academy, “Mibu gishi den” won Best Record with Nakai picking up the awards for Best Actor and Sato for Best Supporting Actor. It was nominated for eight other awards, but apparently in Japan winning the Best Describe award does not carry over into a lot of technical categories. However, I would certainly argue that it is Nakai’s performance that elevates this film above the high levels of sentimentality that prefer up almost the entire final act. Quite simply his performance was what made me round up in the final analysis on this decidedly different samurai film.
This was the closing film at the 2002 Tokyo International Film Festical. Yoshimura Kanichiro, “the wolf of Mibu”, who toils through the slay of the Shogunate era armed only with his sense of justice.
I have owned this movie for some time now and never tire of watching it again to hold out details of the anecdote I had missed before. I regain it has a rich mixture of sights and sounds that accomplish it a account worth repeating. The characters are believeable and plump of emotion. The action is well played. I’ve found it to be a keeper.

It’s black that such a estimable anime got butchered so badly by the American distributor Viz. On the advanced copy I was able to survey thanks to Shonen Jump, I was instantly able to inform that this was definitely an execrable version of what Naruto the anime could have been. The suppose acting stunk (it’s immense to here those neutral tones in moments of dread), the kid-friendly editing was unneeded (especially since most of the kids who are watching this on TV have already read the manga), and there wasn’t a Japanese track. If this is proper for the upcoming release of this anime, then it spells instant doom for Naruto the anime, because it unbiased isn’t worth watching in the English track.

That being said, I will say that Naruto is possibly my approved manga. It outranks even the old manga I tend to read (Berserk, Hellsing, Death Brand), which says something about the yarn of this manga. So all of you fan-boys and girls out there who are going to vote this review as unhelpful because I said something negative about you accepted, Naruto, mediate again. I’m fighting for Naruto, which was given an ill-luck chance on this side of the world with this anime release. I deem Viz was more out to beget money than anything, something an anime studio should not do because it alienates correct fans of anime. By making it the map they did, they were able to sell it to Cartoon Network, and they could subsequently release the Uncut version after people have already bought the first couple volumes of the carve one.
If I was you, a Naruto fan enthusiastic in the anime, I’d wait for the uncut version to be released. If luck is with us, the Japanese track will be on that version, the honest version, and we won’t have to listen to the unpleasant American yell acting, plus we’ll score the paunchy Naruto the plot it was meant to be seen. Don’t remove this; it objective isn’t worth the time and money.
Naruto is posthaste becoming one of the best anime ever. It’d be too long to interpret the entire epic, so this is objective the basic outline.

The anecdote revolves around a boy named Naruto (duh) . As a cramped child, he had no parents, no friends and everybody (except for the Hokage and Iruka-sensei) in Konoha vilage hated him because of his awful secret (which he himself did not know) : inside of him was a sealed ‘Kyuubi’ or demon fox.
Naruto only had one dream: one day, he was going to surpass the level of Hokage (the highest ninja in Konoha village) and perform everyone reply his exsitence.
So, after finally graduating from the Ninja Academy, he is set into a three-man team so as to originate his hands-on trainging as a exact ninja and to complete missions.
In his team are Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke. There’s of course the classic japanese esteem triangle: Sakura loves Sasuke while Naruto loves Sakura. Of course, Sakura thinks Naruto is annoying and Sasuke thinks Sakura is annoying.
They are then assigned a teacher: Hatake Kakashi, a super-cool, strong guy who enjoys reading books like “Flirting Paradise” and “Make-out Violence”. Together with his team, they wait on their village and other villages by completing missions that can range from weeding someone’s garden, to a hazardous escort to another village.
The astronomical thing about this anime is that it’s as considerable Sasuke’s myth as Naruto’s. Sasuke wants to become stronger so that he can end his brother, Itachi, who single-handedly wiped out the entire Uchiha clan, leaving only Sasuke alive to become stronger and raze him. Even though this is slightly screwed up, the memoir gradual it is very engaging and dim.
Through the legend, you’ll meet other bewitching characters.
As Naruto is coming out on Toonami this summer, the only reason I’d spy it is to notice how gross the hiss acting will be and to observe how great they nick out.
This is an excelent anime, and I’d recommend it for anyone, though younger children should prefer care as there is violence, blood, some swearing and some very collected sexual humor.
There are currently 138 episodes out from Japan (not on T.V.) and I really fancy this anime. Any anime fan who likes action, comedy (and a runt romance) should check this out. Large ninja action, the will to become stronger to protect those precious to you (or to acquire revenge for your fallen clan) and the feeling of luminous your current are objective some elements in the awsome prove. The awsome music by Toshiro Masuda is only matched by the huge opening and endings from various extremely talented artists.

Wow! What a blooming film this is! Kwaidan is quite possibly the most magnificent scary movie you will ever peruse. The cinematography in Kwaidan is helpful, and the film has an yarn feel to it, rather recent for a terror film. In fact, I would even call this film the “2001″ of scare movies, and I imagine that if Stanley Kubrick had gotten around to directing a Japanese-style scare movie, it would seek a lot like this film.
Kwaidan was made in the mid-1960s, and at the time, it was the most expensive Japanese film ever made. It was a expansive success at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize. The film is a collection of four ghost stories, told with a decidedly Japanese flair. The first chronicle is about a man who abandons his wife only to return years later. The second account is about a man’s encounter with a snow vampiress. The third myth, my approved, is about a monk who gives nocturnal recitals for mysterious and ghostly hosts. The last record is about a man who drinks down a ghost. That’s all you really need to know, as the stories are quite straight-forward. It is the manner in which they are told and photographed that makes them so noteworthy.
The pacing is very deliberate and insensible but gives you plenty of time to savor the numerous exquisite images that appear on-screen. The director, Kobayashi, filmed Kwaidan in a very surrealistic fashion, and the entire soundtrack was post-dubbed. As such, the sound effects near and go in very unexpected ways, like nervous twitches. This lends a further eerie atmosphere to the film.

The DVD is by Criterion, so you can inquire a colossal transfer. And the transfer is absolutely attractive! Impartial explore at the trailer (included on the DVD) and compare with the quality of the film itself, and you will be amazed. The narrate is crystal positive with sparkling colors and deep gloomy (the many night scenes search for broad, not muddy at all) . There are no pixelations or artifacts and barely a ticket here or there of scratch marks that belie the film’s age. Sound is monophonic. Too dreadful Criterion didn’t include a commentary track, but I lisp with an almost 3-hour film, there wasn’t considerable room left on the DVD for anything else.
Still, if you like eerie ghost movies like The Innocents or The Haunting (fresh B/W version) or The Changeling, you will really like this film. Kwaidan is not horrifying or scary in a “Halloween” or “Yowl” manner; rather it creates an uneasy sensation of horror and despair. Highly highly recommended!
I remember seeing this movie on halloween night of 2002 on IFC when they were playing the most lovely and bizarre films ever made, after watching a lot of classic american anxiety films, i was already bored of watching them, because i already knew what was going to happen. I remember it was around 8 pm, noone home i was on the computer typing something and figure it wouldnt be worth sitting down watching these movie, until this movie the first of the six movies they were playing. The credits alone at the beginning of the film and the music made me want to scrutinize it and gaze what this attractive portion of art was, i wouldnt even believe it a film, its more of 4 storys of art. So splendid, i read somewhere that it was the first color japanese film in Japan and thats the reason why there is so grand color. Something this magnificent can only be inspect on a superb dvd at night to peep this delicate fraction. If you like this movie, check out the movie others the director did, i seen them all and they are very great.

Well, if this film doesn’t assign hair on your chest, nothing will.
Look up ‘film noir’ in the dictionary and there should be a represent of Robert Mitchum in The Yakuza, alongside Bogie in The Maltese Falcon. It’s that great of a film.
The theme is about honor, or “giri.” The last bastion of manhood in an relativistic world ambivalent towards heroism, unsure about any values, right or otherwise, and gone to hell.

Against this background, you may be a tad on the shady side of the law, but do you sustain faith with your friends?
For that matter, would you risk taking a bullet for someone you personally despise but whom you “owe” because he’s saved the life of your wife and child?
The area begins when Mitchum is approached by an aged army buddy that he hasn’t heard from in decades, place for the annual obligatory Christmas card. His daughter’s been kidnapped by Japanese mobsters and he needs his back.
As to Mitchum, his character is established in one line.

“You’ve been successful? ”
Mitchum: “That depends on how you figure those things.”
True enough. He has no family, no friends, no one even remotely halt. The film noir loner, now in his sixties.
He goes benefit to Japan, links up with the only woman he ever loved, and the one enemy who can assist him find entry into the gloomy world of the Yakuza; an ultra-traditionalist latter-day Samurai ( Tanaka Ken ) who “owes” Mitchum.
One limited quandary, he’s no longer a Yakuza. He’s been out of the mob for years. When Mitchum finds out this awful bit of inforation and blurts out “I can’t ask you to do that!” Tanaka Ken quietly replies: “You already have.”
The feeble warriors go to it again. A spacious legend of adore and betrayal. Acted in a style of understated whispers between flashing katanas that bring the house down.
The movie is salubrious. It really rates 5 stars for its strong dwelling, acting, direction, and camera work. The theme throughout is honor, and obligation. But pay attention to the “obligation” portion. There is the opinion that we are defined by our obligations, a thought that is vastly different between east and west. Personally, I mediate we could employ a minute more of the Japanese context of obligation in our maintain society and culture. And this movie’s depiction appeals to something in me that is, admittedly, fundamentally romantic.
My pickle with the video is this: there are omissions from this version that were in the first version I saw. Some footage has been edited out, and although its omission does not adversely affect the yarn line, it was an effective contribution. Also, there are sections where subtitles are omitted. (My most new viewing was in the company of a friend who speaks Japanese and English, and they provided their occupy comments regarding the accuracy, not necessarily of the English rendering, but more on what the Japanese “should” have been in the context.) Mind you, the movie is in English, with some segments of Japanese dialog. But it was disappointing that some of the most eloquent dialog wasn’t even translated.
Maybe someone, somewhere, will grant my wish and create an unexpurgated version on DVD …

COMING OF AGE IN TOKYO five stars

Having grown up in Japan and America, I really felt this movie captured the cultural differences between the two countries with humor, intelligence and charm while mild making its points pro and con for both. I don’t agree with the comparison to LOST IN TRANSLATION at all. That movie was about alienation. The main characters could have met on the moon. There was almost nothing in that film that reflected the Japanese culture. I don’t contemplate it was trying to. In fact several Japanese friends and myself found it rather offensive to Japanese people. The Ramen Girl more specifically portrays being a foreigner alone in Japan. There are many fully developed Japanese characters and situations. The central status could only ever happen in Japan. This is more of a coming of age movie. What is handsome about it is that it suggests that it’s possible to actually procure oneself and grow outside of one’s home culture and then to bring what has been learned benefit home and lead a richer life. Abby, the central character, is sort of a lost soul. Finding herself abandoned in Japan, she is literally and charmingly, through several magical events, drawn into the culture of cooking ramen. Her scenes with her teacher are often hilarious as he doesn’t say a word of English and she doesn’t snarl a word of Japanese. What transpires would appear to be typical but it’s not. Nothing plays out fair as one would interrogate it to. Her efforts are actually quite inspirational, although not always triumphant. All of the performances are first rate. Brittany Murphy has never been better and all of the Japanese cast are favorable. This movie was very well received in Japan. Journalists and movie goers were really surprised that it was written and directed by Americans. They clearly understood the culture they were making their film about. I contemplate it’s gargantuan that this movie is finally available to an American audience on DVD. It’s really kind of irresistible. It’s also grand to ogle a movie now that has such a obvious point of plan and leaves you feeling so salubrious.
This movie owes its inspiration to Tampopo, the critically acclaimed, gently quirky Japanese film about a female mastering the masculine art of ramen noodle soup making. Brittany Murphy is really quite splendid as a rudderless 20-something American abandoned in Toyko by her boyfriend. She happens upon a ramen shop and is inspired to master the art of making the perfect Ramen soup. There is a lot of attention to detail in spot earn and costume, although Ms. Murphy’s shoes are probably not what kitchen attend would really wear to attach in a 12-hour day.
The Ramen Girl has some subtitles due to its authentic Japanese cast which lend the feel of an art house flick. Another nice touch is a soup making competition in which actor Tsutomu Yamazaki, who was the truck driving mentor in Tampopo, turns in a laughable turn as the mediate of the soup making competition. I occupy this movie has enough charm to appeal to a wide range of viewers and if you really like it, hey, check out Tampopo as well.

In hindsight, and after watching this documentary, it’s blooming easy to watch how we got into the Tremendous Wars against Japan. It’s also beautiful easy to recognize how we could have avoided them with a limited cultural notion.

As usual, PBS puts together a well researched, balanced characterize. As a bonus, it lacks the usual bias that most documentaries seem to inherently gain, and offers very tiny in a draw of “directorial view”.
I did, however, feel that it relied to heavily on visuals at times, especially on the fraction covering the Meiji period. I would have preferred a itsy-bitsy more detail, especially concerning the upcoming culture wars (not covered in this documentary) .
Buy,Download, Or Stream Japan: Memoirs of a Secret Empire! Click Here
That being said, the visuals themselves are nothing to complain about, and the art direction is safe. And the music! What a big accept for a documentary!
Bottom Line: Recommended, especially for those seeking an intro into Japanese history and culture.
I picked up this video for expend with my 8th Grade class. We do a unit on Japanese literature of the Medieval and Tokugawa periods and I aged Episode 2 as an introduction.
I loved the visual style of the film. It is striking and dramatic, with re-enactment footage helping the viewer to visualize the clothing, etiquette, and lifestyles of the period. A gargantuan deal of necessary information is covered in a compressed period of time without being difficult to understand. So far so ample.
However, the film has a very “Eurocentric” attitude proper from the get-go. Before Episode 1 even begins, the voice-over announces that Japan was a world completely the opposite of Europe. The rest of the film continues to hammer this understanding of Japan as “other.” Although the film quotes generously from indispensable sources about the period. most of these sources are European missionaries. The implication is that we can only understand the weird Japanese culture by reading the memoirs of Portugese Jesuits who spent a few months there. This ignores the fact that Japan at the time was certainly honest as accomplished a literary culture as any in Europe, with plenty of authors writing compelling works showing grand greater notion and insight about the culture than European visitors could offer. The film also seems obsessed with the fate of the Christian religion in Japan. This is an fascinating legend, but it is really only indispensable to the country’s history when discussing the final uprising of the Christians which led directly to the Shogun closing Japan off from outside visitors. Meanwhile, valuable topics like Shinto, the Emperor, and Zen Buddhism are barely mentioned.
One piece that does exercise a Japanese indispensable source is the notable discussion in Episode 2 of move during the Tokugawa period. The film uses the journal of a Japanese woman, describing the special difficulties women faced in traveling around Japan. This was enthralling and enlightening. It was also favorable to discover a woman’s perspective in the middle of such a male-dominated epic of power struggles and war.
Overall, I give the film a middling review. The visuals and wealth of information presented is gracious, but the distorted, Eurocentric focus is a staunch drawback.

This movie is hilarious. I watched it without having read the manga or seeing the anime first, and I ended up laughing a lot. To establish it shortly, the main characters, Kamiyama, transfers into Cromartie High to be with his friend (Tak Sakaguchi), who fails the entrance exam. Kamiyama is left alone to deal with this crazy school which is filled with some of the worst teenage thugs in Japan. But not only does it have thugs, it has a gorilla, a robot who doesn’t know he’s a robot, and a shirtless guy named “Freddie” who walks around wearing leather pants and sometimes rides a horse. The movie does have a sort of semi-continuous legend, but it’s also got a lot of elements from the manga, such as Takenuchi’s motion-sickness adventure.
If you’re a fan of Cromartie High, you must have this. If you’re not, you should give it a try anyway.
Although I rarely spy anime now, from time to time there is a series that catches my interest, not so great because of an intricate set or elegant animation, but because it possesses a bizarre sense of humor that I have yet to encounter. One such series is Azuma Kiyohiko’s Azumanga Daioh and another is Nonaka Eiji’s surreal Cromartie High School. Sporting the name of American baseball player Warren Cromartie, who made quite a splash in Japanese professional baseball from 1984-1990 for the Yomiuri Giants, Cromartie High School centers around a student named Kamiyama Takashi whose straight-laced nature puts him quite at odds with his classmates who resemble more a bunch of yakuza than high school students. But there’s distinguished more. Besides yakuza in training, other “students” include a robot who does not know he is a robot, a gorilla, and a fellow who resembles Freddie Mercury of Queen fame. Any description would not do the series justice, but the involving manufacture serves it fell and runt shifts that would be too blunt in live action films arrive off flawlessly. However, as with a number of other common manga/anime series, a live action movie was produced of Cromartie High School.

Episodic in nature, many sections from the Cromartie High School film are lifted directly from the anime/manga, of course, so those familiar with those versions of the series will be treated to seeing them performed with steady actors, so the audience will be treated to seeing such scenes as Takenouchi suffering from motion sickness on a plane and Yamaguchi Noboru’s detestation of the Putan display once again. However, while such scenes work well for animation, it fails sparkling hard in live action. Also, the randomness of the film is not very exquisite because 85 minutes is honest too long for a type of humor that works best in 15 miniature segments.
Cromartie High School is definitely a film made for those familiar with the anime/manga, because those uninitiated into the bizarreness of this series might be left scratching their heads. Humorous at times, but mostly unimaginative and faded, Cromartie High School the movie is one that can be skipped by those familiar with its earlier formats and those who are not.
